Adult Education

Adult Education focuses on the Etz Chaim mission of engaging each individual in a life-long Jewish journey by offering a multitude of stand-alone and multi-session intellectual, spiritual, and cultural program offerings. Sessions are offered at various times during the week, with most currently taking place on Wednesday afternoons, Saturdays, and Sundays. Offerings range from interactive study sessions to field trips to guest lectures, with many more events besides. Learners of all backgrounds are enthusiastically welcomed at every event!

Ongoing Programs:

Wisdom on Wednesdays (WonW): This weekly session is an opportunity to explore the Torah through text study, geography, history, current events, and more with a small, engaged group. WonW is held weekly (unless the madricha/leader is out of town) at Bronte Bistro (Joseph Beth Books in Rookwood Shopping Center) from 3:00-4:30pm.

Unpacking the Torah: The popular monthly Unpacking series  (Unpacking Prayer and Unpacking the Commandments: Challenging Texts) starts a new topic this year: Unpacking the Torah. Sessions are held during the Shabbat morning Kiddush, from approximately 12:15 – 1:30pm, initiated by a “trigger sermon” during services.

Special Events:

Men’s Club will once again be hosting there “Shabbat Speaker Series”

These dates will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 and Saturday, March 25, 2017
